Music and lifestyle festival - September 22-24

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend the Beach Life Ranch Festival kicks of today, September 22nd.  The weekend offers an abundance of artists that the promoter says fits the “cowboy surfer” vibe with a nice mix of country, folk, mainstream and more.  The top billing performers are Jack Johnson on Friday, Cody Jinks on Saturday and Brad Paisley on Sunday.  There are 4 stages each day and someone is performing at pretty much all times so not a dull moment.  It’s a pretty cool way to see friends, listen to some good music and have an overall chill vibe.  Hope to see you there.

We love community events and summer brings out some really great opportunties to go to some unique events with family and friends. There are a number of community events in the various South Bay cities and one we always like are the movie nights. Redondo Beach offers family movie nights starting in September and it’s always a fun time. This years movie nights are presented by the Redondo Pier Association and Md Memorial Care Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital of Long Beach. Well the weather could be a little better but what can you do…..Beachlife Festival Starts today and it’s sure to be a good time once again.  This 3 day concert and festival takes place in and around Seaside Lagoon in South Redondo.  The music happens on 3 different stages with each day building into the headliner as the last act.  This year the headliners are 5/5 The Black Keys, 5/6 Gwen Stefani, and 5/7 The Black Crowes.  See the lineup below.

Oh the holidays are wonderful.  Event after wonderful event to celebrate and do something unique.  This is a big weekend in that department and one of the events is the annual King Harbor boat parade happening tomorrow in King Harbor starting at 5:30.  This is always a unique and wonderful way to celebrate the holidays in our coastal community.

The King Harbor Yacht Club’s Annual Holiday Boat Parade is a premier holiday event that harnesses the joy of the holiday season. Brightly decorated boats and paddle-craft parade through the marina trying to capture one of the event trophies.
The best place to view the boats is at Moonstone Park and parts south on Mole B.

Boats decorated in a festive holiday spirit will circle the marina three times and be judged in a variety of categories.  The event kicks off with a Holiday Concert and Santa on the Pier from 2 – 4 pm. (see below)

Beachlife Festival Happening This Weekend Near King Harbor

If you happen to live in The Village Redondo Beach…..there’s a great event just steps away.  What a venue for a fun weekend concert……. The Beachlife Festival is 3 days of music, entertainment and community fun. We had the chance to go on Friday and it was fantastic as always.   There is, of course, the music, which covers a lot of genres and there’s definitely something for everyone.  There’s plenty of food and craft beer, booths of local companies, game areas with ping pong, and cornhole and more.  The event has 4 stages and our favorite is always the lowtide stage as you watch from the sand of Seaside Lagoon so it’s really like a day at the beach.  Visit the Beachlife Festival page for more information.
