How Do June Home Sales in Redondo Compare? – Real Estate Trends

June was another slow month in terms of the number of home sales with only 47 homes that sold during the month.  2020 has been slower in general as the number of home sales has never reached to lowest number of sales in 2019.  The good news is that the pending sales is trending way up with 96 pending sales in June meaning July will be a big rebound month for the number of home sales.  The inventory of new listings has also gone up  for 5 straight months and as of 7/21 there are 129 current homes for sale in all of Redondo Beach

June 2020 Home Sales and Property Prices in Redondo Beach

June 2020 was another slow month in terms of the number of home sales in the coastal community of Redondo Beach. There were only 47 home sales which was much lower than any month in 2019. Both April and May had been fairly slow due to the concerns and uncertainty of the coronavirus and the impacts on real estate. Home prices on the other hand, were impressive. The median “list” price for the sold homes was $1,149,000 with the median “sold” price being $1,165,000 meaning that most homes sold over the asking price. Redondo Beach Real Estate Market Snapshot

The Redondo Beach real estate market definitely slowed down in April due to the impacts and uncertainties of coronavirus.  Redondo felt the effects more than most South Bay cities with the number of home sales going from 92 the previous April to only 40 this year.  That’s an incredible drop. 

The good news is that the homes that did sell are still reaching new heights.  The median sales price for the month was $1,247,000 with an average price per foot of $649,000 which was a big increase from the prior year.

By the Numbers - Home Sales and Prices for April

April 2020 was a very slow month for home sales in Redondo Beach which wasn’t all that surprising given the uncertainties for both buyers and sellers.

Overall there were 40 on market property sales which was less than half of the 82 homes that had sold in April of 2019. Median list prices for the month was $1,150,000 with the median “sold” price also being $1,150,000 which indicates a strong seller’s market. The average price per foot was $671.
