Building Spotlight – The Village in Redondo Beach

The Village condos and Townhomes - 610-690 The Village Redondo beach CA 90277

Studio, One and Two Bedroom Condos

By Keith Kyle

The Village in South Redondo Beach may just be the most affordable way of living near the water in the South Bay.  The Village condominiums and townhomes feature 323 well maintained units including studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom condos along with a few townhome style homes at the southern end of the property.  The Village offers resort style living and includes two beautiful pool and spa areas (one is for owners only, the other is owned by Ocean Club rental units but fully usable by the owners in The Village) a state of the art fitness center (again part of the Ocean Club but free access is provided to owners) several bbq areas, walk paths, access to the Redondo pier area and more.  Most units have ocean views, ocean breezes and are a wonderful place to call home…or a second home.  Visit our 620 The Village site for pictures, videos, floorplans and more.

Complex Features

  • Well-managed 323 unit complex, with onsite-manager and maintenance staff
  • Gated Community
  • Financially strong HOA, with the most recent reserve study estimating reserve funding at 88% on 12/31/2013*
  • Continuous history of low HOA dues
  • A Legal Judgment, favoring The Village, specifies that Lyon Management Group cannot increase the monthly fee they charge the Village HOA for our access to the recreational facilities at the Ocean Club.** Long term, this helps to keep our HOA dues down.

Amenities

  • Two beautifully renovated pool areas, each with its own pool and jacuzzi
  • Poolside, ocean view patio seating for dining and lounging
  • A fire pit to enjoy the ocean view and outdoors on a cool day or evening
  • Three barbeque areas to grill up your favorites while watching sunset
  • Ocean view state of the art fitness center
  • Lush landscaping, ponds, and waterfalls
  • Ocean view dog path
  • Steps to Bicycle Path, Beach, Pier, and Harbor
  • Passenger Elevator

Pets

  • “Each unit is Limited to One Pet under 15 inches tall from its shoulder.”
  • “Pets shall be ordinary household pets such as dogs, cats, birds, and fish.”
  • See Pet Rules and Regulations for additional information.

What’s around the Village?

One of the nicest features to living in The Village is that you can park your car on a Friday and never need to get back in until Monday (or if you’re really lucky weekdays are not any different than weekends). There is so much to do and all within walking distance.

  • World famous Redondo Beach
  • King Harbor
  • The Redondo Beach pier
  • The fitness center right on the property
  • 2 pools and spas (one shared with Ocean Club apartments and one only for The Village)
  • On site market and restaurant
  • Kincaid’s Restaurant
  • Old Tony’s

Summer Fun At Seaside Lagoon

By Keith KyleSeaside Lagoon Redondo Beach

If you’ve got little ones and the waves at the beach are just a little too much, there’s another way to spend a great day at the beach without actually going to the beach.  Seaside Lagoon in South Redondo beach may be just what you’re looking for to cool off n the summer.  Located in the King Harbor/Redondo Pier area Seaside Lagoon is part park, part pool, part beach play area with plenty of places to eat and play nearby.  Water is pumped in from King Harbor, chlorinated, and eventually cleaned and pumped back out.

Seaside Lagoon is open in the summer from 10am-5:45 daily and admission is $7 for adults and $6 for kids.

Seaside Lagoon is not only open daily but has some wonderful special events such as fireworks on the 4th, Lobsterfest and even winter ice skating in years past.

Rare Oceanview 2 Bedrooms in The Village in South Redondo Beach

By Keith Kylepano riviera village

It’s not often that a 2 bedroom condo comes along in The Village in Redondo Beach.  Located just behind the Redondo Beach pier, the Village condos are located in the 600 – 660 The Village buildings (they are actually on Catalina but we’ll save that explanation for another day.)  The units with big views offer true vacation living with dazzling sunsets, views of the boats coming in and out of King Harbor and the sounds of waves hitting the shore.

The reason that it’s so rare to see two bedroom condos is that they are only located on the fronts of each building.  In addition to the fact that there are just so few of them, they are even more rare on the market as many buyers keep them as rental units once The-Village-Signthey outgrow the condo or just decided condo living isn’t for them.

Since 2010 there have only been 3 of these rare units available which is what makes it pretty astounding to see two units currently for sale at the same time.   This is even more unbelievable given the lack of home inventory throughout both Redondo Beach and the South Bay.  The first condo is located at 630 The Village #116 and is priced at$579,000.  The second unit with larger views and more updates is located at 610 The Village #116 and priced at $699,000.  Both units were built in 1974 and have 938 square feet, 2 pools, fitness center and direct access to walk to the pier and beach.  Ahh….vacation living is good.

Sorry, but we couldn't find any results in the MLS that match the specified search criteria.
