Welcome to The Montecito, one of the newer construction senior condo complexes in the South Bay. The Montecito consists of 48 condominiums built for seniors aged 55+. The Montecito complex is fairly new as it was built in 2008 so most units have the finishes and features most current buyers are looking for. Some of these upgrades include granite counters, stainless steel appliances, recessed lights, interior laundry and central heat and AC.
Located just 1.5 miles from the beach, homeowners will also enjoy nearby conveniences of shopping and dining. The building offers 4 floorplans with one- and two-bedrooms ranging from 790 square feet up to 1,100 square feet.
The condos offer large balconies some with beautiful neighborhood views and gated underground side-by-side parking.
The complex doesn’t have much in the way of amenities but coes have a nice courtyard area with fireplaces and seating areas. HOA fees are around $432 as of 4/1/25.
One occupant must be 55+, buyers of any age can purchase the condo.

While there’s a few 55+ condos priced slightly lower, this one bedroom condo in Brookside Village is the least expensive home currently on the market in Redondo Beach.
Hitting the market on 10/25 this 750 square foot top floor condo is listed at $515,000. That’s not dramatically lower than the last few one bedroom sales, but it appears to be priced pretty well.
It’s a bit hard to tell the condition it’s in as the listing photos are definitely not making it shine, but based on what we can tell it appears to be a nice property and a great price. The 2nd floor condo has had some upgrades including granite counters, stainless appliances, laminate floors and more.

Breakwater village 55+ condos - 2750 Artesia Blvd in Redondo Beach
There are not nearly as many 55+ senior communities in Redondo as there are in Torrance, but there are a view. One of the more well known is located at 2750 Artesia and is called Breakwater Village. The community was built in 2007 by Scott Anastasi and offered 8 floorplans. The A & F floorplans are the same with the exception of the A unit having a den and the F unit having a bedroom with a closet instead of the den.
Not surprisingly the least expensive home in Redondo Beach is in a 55+ community on Artesia. The reason it’s not surprising is that due to the more limited buyer pool, demand is never as strong for 55+ homes as similar homes without age restrictions.
This nicely upgraded condo in Montecito senior living offers 1 bedroom, 1 bath and approximately 790 square feet. The complex is fairly new so it offers all the bells and whistles of newer construction. Currently the second least expensive home in Redondo is in the same building priced at $420,000.
