The highest priced home sale in Redondo Beach last month was a beachfront property on the Esplande in South Redondo.  The home was listed at $5,495,000 and sold at $5,650,000. 

The buyer was a Joo H Kim with the seller the Doyle family.  The sellers were represented by Gary and Tony Eliminoufi of Beach City Brokers and the buyer was represented by Gary Elminoufi.

If it’s not something in the water…..it must be something about living on the water.  In the past 2 weeks there have been three beachfront/oceanfront homes that have come on the market.  These Esplanade homes are a rarity.  It’s even more amazing given just how low home inventory is in Redondo in general.  We don’t know the reason but it’s pretty exciting.

Just days ago 809 Esplanade hit the market.  This was a land sale with a charming but small and dated bungalow built in 1930 listed at $6,500,000 and then a few days later the enormous oceanfront estate at 709 Esplanade hit the market at $11,250,000 and is already in escrow.

Today a very different but equally rare home hit the market.  601 Esplanade #B is part of a 2 unit building and this is the upper level condo.  It’s pretty dated but has some very nice features including 15 foot ceilings and an entire west facing wall of windows from floor to ceiling.  Take in the stunning and panoramic ocean views and the roofdeck is more like being on a boat than on a house.

What a week it’s been on the oceanfront and beachfront  home market in Redondo.  Just days ago 809 Esplanade hit the market.  This was a land sale with a charming but small and dated bungalow built in 1930 listed at $6,500,000.

This was a rarity as there are only a few single family homes on the Esplanade in Redondo and now there’s another in the same week.

The location is the only similarity…..as they couldn’t be much more different.   

While 809 is a tear down beach bungalow…..709 Esplanade is huge, remodeled and has an incredible look and feel.

709 Esplanade is one of the largest homes ever built in the Beach Cities at almost 9,000 square feet.  Ironically enough we featured this house years ago (not necessarily in a good way) when it sold in 2015.  The home was on the market for almost 3 years and was originally priced in 2012 at $10,000,000 and ended up selling for $6,350,000 in 2015.  What was so unusual about the home was that everything on the inside was pink.  Pink marble flooring, pink tile, pink sculptures…..it was odd.

The home has now been EXTENSIVELY remodeled with an entirely different look and feel.

The High Sale of the Year in Redondo…..No Suprise It’s an Oceanfront Home

717 Esplanade Redondo Beach - Sold for $9,675,000

Not that it’s a surprise to anyone, but the most expensive home sale in Redondo Beach in 2020 was right on the beach. The oceanfront home at 717 Esplanade was a staple of the beachfront real estate market and it felt like it was always on the market….and that’s because it was. Originally listed in 2013 at $14,250,000, the home had years of price reductions and realtor changes. It’s a spectacular house and there’s just not much, if anything, like it…but the reality was it was priced way too high for Redondo Beach. After years of price reductions the one that finally worked was a price of $9,975,000 back in July of 2019. It took a while but it went into escrow in January 2020 and closed in February. The home offered 4 bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths and an incredible 7,000+ square feet.  The sales price was $9,675,000.
