No Longer a Less Desirable Part of North Redondo – 2402 Alvord Sells for Top Dollar

North Redondo Beach has always averaged much lower home prices than south Redondo for many reasons.  One of the neighborhoods that had long had the perception of a less desirable place to own had been the pocket known as El Nido over near where 190th and Inglewood intersect.  The reason was that it was the furthest area from the water and it also had far more commercial and even industrial areas surrounding it.

Well that’s certainly no longer the perception and this neighborhood has really taken off during this sellers market.  Unlike most of north Redondo Beach 90278 this little pocket consists almost exclusively of single family homes.  With schools just down the street and a very residential feel it’s now one of the hotter markets in Redondo.  The recent sale of 2402 Alvord at almost $1.5M with just a bit over 1,000 square feet certainly makes that clear.  Take a look at the details of this home that just recently sold $175,000 over list price.

While this was one of the nicest homes we had ever seen in the Golden Hills of Redondo Beach, this was still a huge number for a “tall and skinny” in this part of north Redondo.  Listed at $2,150,000 and closiing at $2,225,000, 1713 Haynes Lane was a 2019 Amiri built single family home with an impressive 2,400+ square feet on three levels.  The home had an incredible coastal look an feel with white cabinetry, light oak floors, an open layout and more.  We loved the house but this price definitely sets the new standard for homes in the Golden Hills of Redondo Beach.

Record Breaking Sale in the Village Condos

The highest price ever for a 1 bedroom condo in the village

630 The Village #112 - Sold at $805,000

One of the Redondo Beach home sales so far in April shattered the previous price record in the oceanview condo complex of The Village. Listed at $750,000 this home didn’t last on the market through the weekend before going into escrow.  The buyer clearly NEEDED to have it and it closed at an amazing  $805,000.   Ironically enough it’s now on the rental market for $3000.

Overall this was a beautiful condo with a nice vew and was extensively remodeled and in fantastic shape.  Although it was on the first floor, this one had about as nice a view as you can get on the first floor and the first floor does have a few advantages…they have much larger balconies and it is the only level that can have hardwood floors (due to nobody being underneath so noise not a factor)
