What a week it’s been on the oceanfront and beachfront  home market in Redondo.  Just days ago 809 Esplanade hit the market.  This was a land sale with a charming but small and dated bungalow built in 1930 listed at $6,500,000.

This was a rarity as there are only a few single family homes on the Esplanade in Redondo and now there’s another in the same week.

The location is the only similarity…..as they couldn’t be much more different.   

While 809 is a tear down beach bungalow…..709 Esplanade is huge, remodeled and has an incredible look and feel.

709 Esplanade is one of the largest homes ever built in the Beach Cities at almost 9,000 square feet.  Ironically enough we featured this house years ago (not necessarily in a good way) when it sold in 2015.  The home was on the market for almost 3 years and was originally priced in 2012 at $10,000,000 and ended up selling for $6,350,000 in 2015.  What was so unusual about the home was that everything on the inside was pink.  Pink marble flooring, pink tile, pink sculptures…..it was odd.

The home has now been EXTENSIVELY remodeled with an entirely different look and feel.

42 Home Sales at an Average Price of $1,589,782

It was a much busier month for Redondo Beach real estate with 43 home sales especially compared with the 40 in March and the record low 21 sales in January.

The average “list” price was $1,589,138 with the average sold price at $1,589,782 which was considerably higher than the average price in March which was $1,423,964.

Homes averaged $857 a square foot and averaged 40 days on market before going into pending status.
