Oh the holidays are wonderful.  Event after wonderful event to celebrate and do something unique.  This is a big weekend in that department and one of the events is the annual King Harbor boat parade happening tomorrow in King Harbor starting at 5:30.  This is always a unique and wonderful way to celebrate the holidays in our coastal community.

This years theme is tropical holiday.

The King Harbor Yacht Club’s Annual Holiday Boat Parade is a premier holiday event that harnesses the joy of the holiday season. Brightly decorated boats and paddle-craft parade through the marina trying to capture one of the event trophies.
The best place to view the boats is at Moonstone Park and parts south on Mole B.

Boats decorated in a festive holiday spirit will circle the marina three times and be judged in a variety of categories.  The event kicks off with a Holiday Concert and Santa on the Pier from 2 – 4 pm. (see below)

It’s been a very long time since we’ve seen a distressed sale in Redondo Beach due to the increase in property values over the last few years.  It’s harder for homeowners to be under water on their mortgage when prices keep rising but sometimes circumstances make it difficult.  A distressed sale can be anything from a short sale (when the seller still owns it but needs to sell at a loss) to a bank auction, to a bank owned home (bank officially foreclosed and is the actual owner)

That said a 3 bedroom foreclosed condo just came on the market and it’s in the the condo complex of Brookside Village in South Redondo Beach.   

814 Camino Real Unit #201 offers a nice opportunity at it’s current list price of $800,000….not so much in the discounted value (which there is some) but in the fact that finding a top floor condo at this price is quite challenging.   The last 2 top floor three bedroom condos that sold closed at $910,000 and $935,000.  Both were nicely remodeled but for a buyer in the $800,000 range top floor condos are few and far between.  That said the condo is pretty original and most definitely needs some love.

Summer Concerts on the Redondo Pier Are Ready to Roll

It's time for Summer concerts on the pier once again

Every Thursday & Saturday from July 4 - August 31st from 6-8 PM.

The always popular summer concert series on the Redondo Beach pier is once again ramping up and with the now awesome weather….it’s going to be tough to beat.  The concerts take place every Thursday and Saturday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and are presented by the Redondo Pier Association and Memorial Care Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach.  The location is pretty hard to miss as it’s over the water(follow the crowd….and the music)

There is no charge for admission so come on down to the pier with friends and family.

It’s not just about the music as it’s a real community event and always has a great vibe.  The bands range from tribute bands (on Thursdays) to bands covering music from certain eras so there’s sure to be something that catches your attention.  The concerts start this Thursday, July 4 and ends on August 31st.  Seating is not provided so best to bring beach chairs and blankets (and something warm….still gets chilly in the evening with the beach breeze.
